Travelers in the northeast part of the country now have a more convenient way to enjoy their vacation in the sun, sand and surf of the Mexican Caribbean for a vacation getaway.
JetBlue recently started their first daily nonstop flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy airport to Tulum International Airport on June 13th that will make a Mexican beach trip even easier by saving you time and money.
Nonstop From The Big Apple
JetBlue will be offering travelers from New York and the northeastern part of the country one flight to and from Tulum each and every day.
“Tulum, with its serene beaches, eco-conscious living, and rich Mayan history, will now be more accessible to travelers, in addition to points of interest further south along the Grand Costa Maya. We look forward to welcoming New Yorkers, and those transiting through JFK, to this new era in the Mexican Caribbean,” said Andrés Martínez Reynoso, Director of the Quintana Roo Tourism Board.
The flight will leave New York’s John F. Kennedy airport at 8:00 a.m. arriving at Tulum International Airport at 11:15 a.m.
The return flight will depart Tulum at 12:45 p.m. arriving in New York at 5:49 p.m.
Travelers wanting to book the direct flights to Tulum will want to search for flight 2879 for the New York departure and 2880 for the arrival. Both flights will use Airbus A320 airplanes.
Convenient Northeast Access
JetBlue’s flights mean travelers to Tulum can now easily get to the trendy new airport in the Mexican Caribbean close by home.
If you wanted to get there before, the connection would have been somewhere south such as Atlanta, Houston or even Miami.
For those in the greater New York area, that means a convenient nonstop flight to Tulum without a connection.
Cutting out the connections is a smart way to cut down on flight time and wasted time transiting between flights.
It also can limit the headaches we all face from missed or rushed connections.
Jet Blue Insider Experience
If you enjoy all inclusive package deals, JetBlue is planning to add Tulum to its JetBlue Vacations Insider Experience program.
The program will make it a little easier for you to get to and from your hotel in Tulum with free airport transfers and local expert concierge services.
That added piece of mind is very convenient with traveling to an international destination, especially for first time visitors.
If you are one of those travelers who prefer to go it alone, JetBlue has special limited-time one-way fares set at $99, so it’s a great time to save some money and book for your upcoming summer, fall, or winter Mexican beach getaway.
JetBlue Frequent Fliers
JetBlue frequent fliers in the northeast, where the airline has built a following, gives frequent fliers a new way to earn miles for travel to the Mexican Caribbean.
Positioning flights are a great way to quickly earn miles or status. A quick flight to New York from the northeast and then on to Tulum could be an easy way to get some extra frequent flier miles.
Those milage credits can in turn be used for free flights anywhere JetBlue flies, including its very popular business class flights from the northeast to London.
JetBlue also offers regular nonstop flights from New York to popular destinations such as Los Angeles International Airport and Los Cabos International Airport.
What Travelers Need to Know
It took a while, but finally travelers from the northeast have an easy and convenient way to travel to the brand-new Tulum International Airport in the Mexican Caribbean.
It’s a smart way to limit annoying connections along with a way to save money and time getting to the travel hotspots south of Cancun without going through the area’s large airport or having a long ride to Tulum.
