Cancun is quickly becoming the newest hotspot in the Mexican Caribbean and new hotels are being added to the long list of luxury properties all the time, and now a new 1000-room all-inclusive resort by Marriott will be opening its doors in December too. It is not the only hotel scheduled to open at the end of the year but it is one of the largest and most anticipated. The resort will not only feature all suites, but also a water park, a laser tag area, two theaters, nine bars, and 12 restaurants.
The opening of the All-Inclusive Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun by Marriott is scheduled for December 20, 2022, just in time for the holiday season. The luxury resort will consist of two separate sections, one being the main resort area and the other a “Diamond Club” area that will feature its own beach, a private lounge by the ocean, and butler service for guests. Both sections will be on par with the standards that have come to be expected from Marriott’s all-inclusive style resort.
The new Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun is one of 20 Blue Diamond Resorts that were announced following the agreement made between Marriott International’s Autograph Collection and Sunwing Travel Group. At least eight other resorts that are part of that agreement will open in Mexico in the near future. Blue Diamond Resorts will continue to operate the new resorts, but with the Marriott brand promise and level of service that has come to be expected.
Jordi Pelfort, President of Hotels and Resorts at Sunwing Travel Group, stated in response to the partnership that “With our world-class resort portfolio and Marriott’s prestigious reputation as well as its important loyalty program, we will offer the highest level of all-inclusive service while making the vacation dreams of many more travelers come true.” And in response to the opening of this specific property, Pelfort stated that they are “very proud to welcome our guests to experience the exclusive touches and standards they expect from our world-class brand. Our newest resort is the culmination of a decade of success that offers first-class all-inclusive getaways. It has been meticulously planned and built from scratch so that we can guarantee the highest quality and provide a truly luxurious guest experience.”
The water park featured at the Royalton Splash will be one of the larger hotel property water parks in Cancun. It will include two individual lazy rivers and a total of 14 water slides. A number of other activities for the kids will also be included, making it the perfect spot for a family getaway.
There are all-inclusive resorts all over Cancun and throughout the Riviera Maya, each unique in its own way. The Royalton Splash seems to offer the best of both worlds, with plenty for the kids, along with world-class amenities for the adults. It truly appears that it will be a vacation destination in and of itself.
The popularity of Cancun has skyrocketed since the pandemic has ended and it doesn’t look like that is going to change anytime soon. As more and more new resorts are added, the capacity for the Mexican Caribbean city to grow is endless. Even as the number of hotels in Cancun exceeds double digits, the resorts have no trouble filling their rooms.
The new Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun by Marriott is a much-anticipated addition to an already long list of luxury options. It too will likely fill its rooms quickly, with tourists that have already discovered the gem of a travel destination that Cancun has truly become.
