A much-anticipated new mega theme park that was scheduled to be opened in 2020 before the Covid-19 pandemic hit will be opening in Cancun near the very popular Moon Palace. According to the president of Palace Group, José Chapur, the work on the Grand Outlet Malltertainment Riviera Maya was able to resume after securing a loan from Bancomext. Gisco, the same development company that worked on the project prior to the pandemic, is continuing the work now that the funds have been secured.
Palace Group is also the company responsible for Moon Palace and this new tourist attraction will be located directly in front of the famed resort. Malltertainment is being designed to be an all-in-one destination with three hotels, shopping, food, music, and other entertainment, and the opportunity to explore and enjoy local traditions. If that isn’t enough, the property will also have an auditorium that seats nearly 8,000 people, an amusement park, a hot air balloon, an ice skating rink, multiple water features, and the largest go-kart track in the world.
Malltertainment, with its many attractions and entertainment venues, will sit on property owned by the Chapur family and will cover nearly a mile of land. Many millions of dollars will be invested into the property and, once completed, it will bring around 5,000 jobs to the area. Centrally located, not far from Cancun International Airport or the area’s beaches, the complex is in an ideal location for tourists flying into the airport and for local residents who might want to seek employment at the new mega theme park or other venues within the complex.
With the development of the new Malltertainment complex tourists in Cancun will be able to visit one of the biggest properties of its kind. It will be able to compete with some of the largest known shopping and entertainment centers in the world, including Dubai Mall, West Edmonton Mall, and Siam Paragon. In a city that is quickly growing in popularity, it is the perfect addition to all that Cancun already has to offer.
As of right now Malltertainment is expected to open in early 2023, more than two years after it was originally scheduled to open in December 2020. Tourists staying near the beaches in Cancun will easily be able to hop on a bus or hire a taxi to get to the Malltertainment complex. Visitors who want to be close to all the action will also have the option of staying at one of the hotels on the property or at the very popular Moon Palace right next door.
Moon Palace, a Palace Group resort, is known for its luxury accommodations, its access to multiple beautiful beaches, and the exciting activities it has to offer. It is an all-inclusive resort with world-class dining that includes Italian, Pan-Asian, American, International, and of course, Mexican cuisines in addition to multiple clubs and bars. There are also plenty of activities to participate in at the resort, including golf, spa treatments, guided tours, a flow-rider, an ice-skating rink, an arcade, tennis and basketball courts, and multiple pools.
Palace Group is known for its premier resort properties all over the world, and particularly in Cancun. The success of Moon Palace is the result of the dedication of the company to provide the highest level amenities paired with a laid-back atmosphere and superior entertainment options. If past successes are an indicator of future accomplishments then visitors can expect the Grand Outlet Malltertainment Riviera Maya to be every bit as enjoyable as Moon Palace.
While Cancun tourists will have to wait until next year to experience Malltertainment all indications point to it being well worth the wait and just another great reason to look forward to vacationing in Cancun. Millions of tourists visit the city every year for its culture, nature, and beaches and the new Malltertainment complex by Palace Group will give those visitors even more to look forward to in the future.
