The SHA Wellness mission started in Spain in 2008, located in the Sierra Helada Natural Park. It is on the property of the original holiday home of the family that founded the company and is spread throughout over seven acres of native land. Fast forward to 2021, the location has been determined, and the concept of SHA Wellness Mexico is born.

The SHA Wellness Mission
According to SHA Wellness, their mission is “to help people live longer and better through a comprehensive and integrative approach to health.” They do this by combining natural therapies with advanced scientifically researched medicinal treatments and healthy eating, all of which are offered at the wellness clinics. Combined with the stunning natural surroundings, it’s the objective of SHA Wellness to help guests disconnect from the outside world while reconnecting with themselves.
The SHA Wellness Clinic Property
Sitting on nearly 20 acres with a stunning white sand beach spanning almost a third of a mile, the SHA Wellness Clinic property was chosen for its opportunity to integrate the natural flora and fauna of the area into the design. In addition to the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, guests will also have access to a cenote on the property as well. These are naturally formed limestone sinkholes that are a popular attraction throughout the Riviera Maya region.
SHA Wellness Accommodations
SHA Wellness uses natural materials and features wide open spaces that incorporate the natural surroundings and the outdoors. The property coming to Playa Mujeres will likely closely resemble the property in Spain. At the Spain property, there are five different types of suites available, ranging in size from over 700 square feet to more than 3,000 square feet, in addition to three different size residences ranging from more than 3,000 to over 5,000 square feet. Each features a modern minimalist design that focuses on nature and well-being and provides a relaxing environment, which will also be present in the Playa Mujeres location.
The Story
The founder of SHA Wellness suffered from health problems himself, which improved after meeting a doctor that focused more on scientific medicine, nutrition, and eating foods with healing power. This approach to health and well-being led to the recovery from founder Mr. Alfredo Bataller’s health problems and instilled in him the desire to share that opportunity. It was from that the concept was born, and with the help of family and experts in all different types of medicine rose to fruition.
The SHA Wellness Clinic in Playa Mujeres will provide a unique retreat where visitors from all over the world can go to achieve better health and well-being through a multitude of programs. That, with a backdrop of the Caribbean Sea waiting to be explored, will provide the kind of relaxation and invigorating vacation that we all sometimes need.
