One of Cancun’s favorite all-inclusive resorts, Club Med, has announced a bumper package of renovations in their hugely popular resort that will see travelers treated to an even better vacation experience.
Additionally, this renovation is much more than just a new lick of paint and updated décor, with awesome new family-focused amenities being added to take the world-famous brand’s popular Cancun resort to the next level.
Unintrusive Renovations
In what may be a surprising move to some travelers, the renovations at Club Med will be carried out without the temporary closure of the resort.
All of the renovations, which in reality are amenity additions, will take place with travelers still enjoying their booked vacations without interruption.
This is a huge plus for travelers not just at Club Med, but across the whole of Cancun, as a large drop in available hotel rooms can quickly affect the accommodation price per night throughout the whole destination, with supply just keeping up with current demand.
What To Expect
The family-friendly Club Med is adding some big changes, making a vacation here easier than ever for families who want their kids to experience just as great a trip as the adults. However, it isn’t just the kids getting a big upgrade to their vacation experience.
Below is a snippet of the new amenities coming to this awesome Cancun resort in 2024
Sport & Wellness Island
Making up the first phase of the new additions and set to open in April 2024, the Sport & Wellness Island will raise Club Med to the high standards set by numerous other resorts in the destination.
The provision of sports and wellness activities has become a huge demand from travelers in the past few years, as more people than ever seek to incorporate a rejuvenation of the body into a relaxing vacation.
That’s going to be a breeze come April at Club Med, with a Caribbean-inspired palapa structure dedicated to Yoga with a tree-lined lagoon view providing the perfect meditative surroundings.
Additionally, top-tier facilities are being added to provide travelers with space to take part in archery, bocce ball, and mini-golf, as well as new tennis and basketball courts for those who want a more competitive game to lift their heart rate.
However, while the above will no doubt provide a familiar way to reach each day’s fitness goals, the real fun comes with the addition of the “Circus School”. This super-unique activity grouping is famous across the Club Med brand and allows travelers to try their hand at a whole host of circus-inspired activities in a safe and well-coached environment.
Family Oasis and Children’s Club
Across the world Club Med has developed a superb reputation for providing a well-balanced family vacation, and in an attempt to bring the Cancun resort in line with the best of the brands roster, a new Family Oasis and Children’s Club is being added.
This new area is inspired by both Mexican and Mayan architecture and will provide a one-of-a-kind environment for families to enjoy.
Furthermore, the planning for this new family-focused area of the resort has been designed so that it is right on the doorstep of the resort’s family suites, providing an extra level of convenience for parents.
The new renovations also aim to provide more freedom than ever for parents of very young children with the addition of a Baby Club Med facility.
Intended for children aged 4 to 23 months, this interactive daycare will be staffed by trained and qualified professionals, taking young children on a journey of colors, sounds, and the natural world.
Other new activities and amenities being added include:
- Themed Splash Park.
- Water park.
- Mini children’s pool.
- Playground.
- Fun Zone.
- Mini cinema.
Add this to the already fantastic amenities at Club Med, and it’s easy to see why this resort is about to become even more loved by families.
All renovations are expected to be completed by December 2024, although some areas will be completed by Spring 2024 and opened for guests to enjoy.

I worked for Club Med in the 90s. The Cancun Village was fantastic then. I can only imagine what it will be like after these improvements. Club Med’s real estate in the Cancun hotel zone is, well, the best. Located in Punta Nizuc the village literally wraps around the southern corner of the hotel zone. This makes Club Med unique as it has a beautiful stretch of Playa Delfines beach, access to Nichupté lagoon and instant access to a wonderful stretch of the Mesoamerican Reef with snorkeling and diving just steps away.
