Each year during the spring break holidays Cancun becomes even more electric than normal thanks to the huge influx of party-loving students that choose the destination.
And while Cancun normally provides plenty of budget-friendly options for accommodation, the law of supply & demand can give vacation planning Americans a shock if they book too late.
Admittedly, there are some extremely low-budget options still on the table, but they are only really suitable for travelers happy to sacrifice heavily on their accommodation quality in return for big savings.
For spring breakers who want the full Cancun experience, with cocktails by the pool and top-notch service, then there are still a few options left that can meet expectations without breaking the bank.
These 3 Cancun resorts provide the full Cancun spring break experience for under $500 per night
Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun
Surprisingly, the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun, which is part of the Royalton autograph collection, makes the cut and can offer travelers the full Cancun vacation experience for an incredibly fair price.
This 1000+ room mega-resort is located on the Riviera Maya coast between Cancun and Puerto Morelos, and while travelers give up some convenience to stay here, the savings to be made more than make up for it.
As an all-inclusive resort with 10 bars and 12 restaurants, spring break visitors can save a small fortune by filling up on tacos and tequila in-resort before heading into Cancun for the famous nightlife.
Additionally, while travelers won’t be on the doorstep of the bars & clubs of Cancun, it’s just a 15-minute cab ride into town, which will cost the equivalent of just 1 or 2 drinks.
Depending on what dates travelers choose, a room can be snapped up here for between $350 and $441 during the spring break holidays.
The Villas Cancun by Grand Park Royal
If the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun doesn’t fit due to location, then a fantastic alternative option is The Villas Cancun by Grand Park Royal.
Located right in the middle of the famous Cancun hotel zone, travelers will struggle to find another resort as convenient as this, and for such a reasonable price, during the spring break vacation period.
While this resort isn’t a showstopper, it still provides comfortable, clean, and well-decorated rooms for every guest, with more luxurious rooms available with plunge pools if the budget allows for it.
Despite being more cosy in size, this resort’s prices are higher than at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun.
Through the spring break period, a room can be found here for between $487 to $567 per night. But the added convenience of location is a fair trade-off for around $100 more.
Hotel Maya Caribe Faranda Cancun
This 3rd entry is the least flashy on the list, but by no means a bad resort, with a fantastic location near the north entrance to the hotel zone it makes both Cancun’s downtown nightlife and the hotel zone nightlife equally easy to reach.
On top of this, it is also just over 200 yards from Playa Tortuga, one of the best-rated beaches in all of Cancun.
What travelers give up in status while staying at the Hotel Maya Caribe Faranda Cancun they get back in dollars. During the spring break period, a room can be found here for between $122 to $126 per night.
That kind of bargain is super-difficult to find in Cancun during the shoulder season, but to find it during spring break, when Cancun becomes one of the biggest party hotspots in the world, is outstanding.
If travelers are concerned the price may be a little too good to be true, it’s worth noting that in reviews from past guests, the most common complaint is the modest amenities and dated fixtures.

On the flip side, the majority of past guests praise the great service here, which is always a big plus on any vacation.
By Cancun’s standards, the Hotel Maya Caribe Faranda Cancun is a little basic, but for a spring break vacation it has everything travelers need and then some.
