Che Holbox Hostel
Che is a hostel/bar chain with a few properties throughout Mexico, including Playa del Carmen and Merida. Their hostel on Isla Holbox has a party vibe that caters to more of the “flashpacker” type of traveler. Choose between mixed dorms, female-only dorms, or private rooms if you’re traveling in a group.
The hostel is about an 8-minute walk from the beach there’s a pool with a view and lots of well-styled common areas that make for great opportunities to socialize with the other hostel guests. There’s also an event planned pretty much every day here, so even if you’re not a guest at the hostel, it’s a great spot to check out for a party.
Located in a central area just a short walk from the beach and some amazing Holbox restaurants (check out Roots Pizza!), Hostal Holbox is an overall great choice for budget travelers to the island. There’s a free basic breakfast, mixed dorms, a well-equipped kitchen for guests to use, and friendly staff to boot. The main complaint from travelers is that the rooms are more open-air, so the street noise can easily be heard at any time of day.
Golden Paradise Hostel
This hostel in Holbox gets amazing reviews for the facilities, cleanliness, staff, and just overall vibes. The hostel is within walking distance from the ferry and the main beaches on the island, so you won’t be far from any of the major hotspots when staying here.
There’s a shared kitchen for guests, hammocks, a shaded garden for relaxing in, air-conditioning, and more. Guests can rent bikes (at extra charge) to explore the island and get tour information on what to do for your trip from the staff.
Barco Verde Hostel
Barco Verde is a newer hostel in town with lots of rooms to choose from for your stay, including mixed dorms, double and quadruple rooms, as well as female-only dorm options.
