Top 5 Things To Consider For A Cancun Summer Trip With Kids

Last Updated

Just because some people go to Cancun for the nightlife and parties doesn’t mean it can’t be a suitable vacation destination for families with kids too.

Of course, you want to be sure the kids are going to have fun and that you stay in a hotel suitable for them, as even some of the hotels that aren’t adult-only may not be the best place to stay with the little ones.

Aside from those factors, here are the top 5 things to consider for a Cancun summer trip with the kids.

Hotels With Babysitting

The first thing to consider is finding a hotel that offers babysitting services because this will allow you to still get some adult time during your family vacation.

You would be surprised at how many Cancun resorts offer this service.

A few that are on that list include Hyatt Ziva Cancun, Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun, and Moon Palace Cancun.

Some of these resorts require booking in advance, and some charge a fee.

Kids clubs are also an option for older kids at some hotels, but these are typically only available during daytime hours.

Best Attractions For Kids

There is actually quite a bit for kids to do in and around Cancun.

Not only are there plenty of fun learning opportunities when exploring Mayan ruins and Mexican culture, but some great attractions for the kids too.

Some of the best attractions for kids are the beaches, the Interactive Aquarium, Xcaret Park(or one of their other parks), Dolphin Discovery, Ventura Park, Croc Cun Zoo, glass bottom boat tour, and Selvatica.

How To Save Money With Kids

Traveling alone is costly enough, but add kids to the mix, and a vacation can get pretty expensive, so finding ways to save money is crucial.

One way to do that is by booking a hotel that offers free stays for kids, like Moon Palace Cancun, for example, which allows kids 17 and under to “stay, play, and eat for free.”

Another way to save money with kids is to book an all-inclusive, which will allow them to eat and snack whenever they want and will include some fun activities for them.

Best Kid-Friendly Hotels

The best kid-friendly hotels are those that offer something special for the kids.

Whether it’s a kids club, daily activities, an on-site splash park or water slides, or just a great kid-friendly atmosphere, you want something to make your stay memorable.

Visiting Cancun During The Summertime

Summertime is a great time to visit Cancun with the kids because the weather is perfect for swimming and enjoying the water parks.

Sargassum is an issue during the summer, though, so you’ll definitely want to book a hotel with plenty of water fun for the kids to cool off in.

For beaches without sargassum, you can also bring the kids to Isla Mujeres, an island just off the coast of Cancun that is often sargassum-free.
