The Mexican Caribbean is home to some of the best tacos around. And I’m not talking about the typical “Old del Paso” tacos you see in North America, filled with ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato and sour cream. After a day of soaking up the sun, what better way to end the day then with some tacos de carnitas and tequila with your friends?! El Gran Taco de Playa
Have you ever heard of tacos de guisado? Guisado basically translates to an incredibly tasty and homey stew, which is served on a classic corn tortilla – taco style! This Mexican concept brings a whole different playing field to your taco game! The stew fillings can be made with everything from pork shoulders spiked with ancho chilies and cinnamon, to simply potatoes and rajas (roasted poblano chilies) cooked in cream. Served out of charred, brick-orange cazuelas or pragmatic steam tables – don’t be surprised if these bad boys make a mess, soul food isn’t always neat and tidy. El Gran Taco de Playa is apparently one of the best places to get Tacos de Guisado, ever!
