Cancún is going to be taking the next step in its evolution as a luxury beach destination for travelers with the announcement of a brand-new resort scheduled for opening in the Puerto Cancún master-planned community in 2025.
Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort
The new Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort will be located on the eastern coast of the Yucatan peninsula with sweeping views of Isla Mujeres and the entire Caribbean Sea.
It will definitely be a standout resort property setting the bar high for luxury in the Mexican Caribbean.
The property will have only 500 rooms. However, more than two dozen of those rooms will feature their own plunge pool, 46 will be luxury suites, and there will be one high-end presidential suite.
Despite the intimate resort feel with a small number of hotel rooms, the Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort amenities will be more representative of larger, higher-end properties in Cancún.
The Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort hotel will have 11 different dining experiences for guests, six different trendy bar locations, and indoor and outdoor spa, fitness center and meeting space available for corporate meetings.
It was originally slated to open by summer 2024 when it was originally announced. However, it has been postponed until some time in 2025.
Cornerstone of Puerto Cancún
The Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort, believed to be the first in Mexico, will be the cornerstone of the new Puerto Cancún master-planned community.
The destination community, centrally located between the Cancún tourist zone and downtown Cancún, will host its own marina, golf course, single-family homes, timeshare properties, resorts, and even an open-air shopping district.
The shopping experience at Puerto Cancún will have upscale amenities such as art galleries, fine dining and entertainment options for families. It is planned for more than 220 shops and stores.
The entire Puerto Cancún master-planned district is being designed for use by locals and tourists alike.
Expanding the Hyatt Brand in Mexico
According to Hyatt, the new Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort opening in Puerto Cancún in 2025 will join the hotel chain’s 18 additional Hyatt-branded hotels and resorts in Cancún, including all-inclusive luxury properties.
This includes the last property to open, the Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets, back in May of 2023.
The company has additional resort properties opening in Cancun as part of its Inclusive Collection.
This includes the Dreams Grand Island and the debut of the Hyatt Vivid Hotels & Resorts brand with Hyatt Vivid Grand Island in Cancun.
It is also opening the Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol in Los Cabos next year and the Hyatt Centric Querétaro in 2025.
New Luxury Option for Travelers
The good news is travelers to Cancún will have another new luxury resort destination available to enjoy their vacation getaway to the beach resort destination.
For World of Hyatt travelers, the Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort will also provide them with a new opportunity to collect and redeem points and awards when visiting Cancún.
This is news to the ears of frequent Hyatt travelers as the resort developer has committed to a pipeline of at least 30 new hotels and resorts in the Americas region through 2025.
Amazingly, Hyatt has been on a relentless pace of construction, tripling its number of resort rooms available for travelers worldwide in just the last five years.
The fact that the Grand Hyatt Cancún Beach Resort is part of the larger Puerto Cancún master planned community being developed means that all visitors to Cancún will have new amenities to enjoy in a family friend destination area.
It is the next step in the evolution of Cancún as one of the premier luxury beach resort destinations for international travelers in all of Mexico.
