The much anticipated Maya Train inauguration is less than two weeks away, scheduled for December 15th at 7:00 in the morning.
The tickets for that inaugural ride went on sale and sold out less than an hour later on December 1st.
Now, more Maya Train tickets for the Cancun to Campeche route have gone on sale due to the extreme demand.
New Dates For Cancun To Campeche Maya Train Trips
So far five new dates for trips along the Cancun to Campeche Maya Train route have been released.
Those dates are December 16 through the 20th, and on each of those days, there will be four trips, two departing from Campeche and two departing from Cancun.
From both Cancun and Campeche, the trains will depart at 7 am and 11 am.

How Much Tourists Can Expect To Pay
There are two different pricing categories for these initial Maya Train trips: Economy Class and Premier Class.
The Economy Class tickets are MXN 1,166, which is around $67.
The Premier Class tickets are MXN 1,862, which equals about $107. These are just the prices for these inaugural trips.

The Cancun To Campeche Maya Train Route
The Cancun to Campeche Maya Train route runs from Cancun through the state of Yucatan to Campeche.
There is a lot to see along this route that passes through three different states in the Yucatan Peninsula.
The Magic Towns of Valladolid and Izamal, the Chichen Itza archeological site, and the charming town of Merida are just some of the amazing sites to see along the way.

When The Maya Train Will Be Fully Operational
The entire Maya Train route will not be inaugurated all at once, but rather in three stages, with the first being the Cancun to Campeche route that will begin operating on December 15th.
The next route will start to operate on December 31st, and that is the Cancun to Palenque route.
The rest of the sections, including the much anticipated Cancun to Tulum route, will begin operations in February, making the Maya Train fully operational by that time.

Where To Catch The Maya Train From Cancun
For those arriving at Cancun Airport, catching the Maya Train couldn’t be easier, because there is a station located right on the Cancun Airport property.
Upon arriving in Cancun, travelers who wish to go straight to the Maya Train station will be able to board an electric minibus to be taken to the station.
Tourists who are staying in Cancun and want to take the Maya Train later in their trip will be able to get back to the airport station via two transfer stations located within the city.
These stations will be located in the center of town and in the downtown area.

Currently, there is only one place to purchase Maya Train tickets, which is through the eTicket website.
Rumors have been floating around about an app in the future that will allow visitors to purchase tickets, but as of right now, the website is the only option.
