September is one of the slower months for international travel in Cancun but lodging can still be pricey and we’ll tell you what 10 hotels have the most expensive rooms right now. This is based on a survey of online travel sites for end of summer and early fall dates, conducted by Reportur.mx.  Despite the high rates though, tourists from the United States and Canada are expected to continue vacationing in Cancun throughout the rest of the year. 

Cancun is home to more than 100 hotels and resorts just in the Cancun Hotel Zone alone.  Many of these properties have received numerous awards over the years.  We’ll list any recent awards received with each hotel on the list as well.  

The hotels that have the higher rates for the upcoming months are some of the most luxurious hotels and resorts in Cancun.  They typically have rates that are on the higher side anyway but we’ll show you how high those rates might be for their lower-priced rooms right now.  To be sure, there are more budget-friendly hotels in Cancun, but if you’re wondering how much the best of the best cost, this is where you’ll find out. 

It’s important to note that these places do have even higher-cost rooms, but we’ll list the highest prices found for the more basic rooms.  The more luxurious, higher-priced rooms can cost in upwards of $1,000 a night at some of these resorts but the basic rooms are pretty expensive too.  So without further ado here are the 10 hotels with the most expensive basic rooms in Cancun.
