Now that the first sections of the Maya Train are up and running, excited travelers are wondering how to board this new form of transportation that travels to numerous adventure-filled locations throughout the Yucatan Peninsula.   

There are a couple of different ways, depending on where you are, when you want to get to the train station.   

Surely you have a lot of other questions about this new exciting way to travel the Mexican Caribbean and beyond, but first things first, and that’s knowing how to get from downtown Cancun to the Maya Train station.

The ADO Bus Service And The Maya Train Station  

It was recently announced that there will be transfer stations in downtown Cancun that tourists can use to get to the Cancun Airport Maya Train station.   

At the time it was unclear as to how tourists would be transported to the station, but according to a more recent report, it appears that transportation will be provided by the ADO bus service.   

Now, ticket prices for bus transfers haven’t been established yet, but the rumors are that it could be as low as $7.00 each way.

Cancun’s Maya Train Transfer Stations 

So far, two transfer stations have been mentioned.  One will be located more in the center of town, near Kabah and Lopez Portillo Avenues.   

The second one is the one that you’ll be more likely to use on your Cancun vacation, which will be located in downtown Cancun at Plaza Las Americas, only steps from the famed Hotel Zone.   

Even more transfer stations will likely pop up in the future as the Maya Train becomes more widely used.

The ADO Bus Service In Cancun 

ADO is a well-known name in Cancun and is used by many tourists to get around while visiting the vacation destination.   

It provides a safe, inexpensive way to get to and from the airport, and around the Hotel Zone.   

Most places you go in Cancun will only cost a few dollars to get to on the ADO bus.

How To Get To The Maya Train Station From Cancun Airport 

At this point, you’re probably wondering how to get to the Maya Train station from the airport if you want to board the train for an adventure as soon as you arrive in Cancun.   

If this is what you’re picturing for your Mexican Caribbean vacation then you’ll be happy to hear just how easy it is.   

It was just announced and is being repeated over the loudspeaker at Cancun Airport, that free shuttles are being provided to transport visitors between the airport terminals and the Maya Train station, about 15 minutes away.

Buying Tickets For The Maya Train 

The first trip on the Maya Train was so highly anticipated that tickets for that inaugural ride sold out in minutes, so you’ll want to secure your tickets early.   

Tickets for the first section opened, the Cancun to Campeche route, are priced at $67 for the tourist class and $107 for the premier class.

There are so many exciting places that will be easier and cheaper to get to now that the Maya Train has begun operating, and there will be even more when it becomes fully operational.
