Reported to have had a consistent occupancy level of 80 percent throughout the high period in winter, experts are hopeful that it will remain just as prominent during the spring period.

Firstly, the new international airport in Tulum has made the destination more attractive and far more accessible than in previous years.
National tourists who usually pick Cancun Airport as their main air terminal before moving on to their next destination now have a chance to explore the south of Quintana Roo quicker and easier.
For international tourists, flights from major U.S cities such as Dallas, Los Angeles, and Chicago will begin operations, and major airlines are already reporting high levels of ticket bookings for this time.

Secondly, Tulum is becoming an ever growing luxury wellness and eco destination; an attribute that more and more tourists are looking for from their next vacation, especially as they emerge out of the cold winter months.
As the Tulum Airport creates better connectivity, so too does its draw for more tourists who want to experience something different from the more mainstream vacation that somewhere like Cancun offers.
With being voted as the Yoga Capital Of The World by Forbes a couple of years ago, seeing huge investment in luxury- wellness resorts and being the home of some incredible eco-friendly tourists attractions like Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, it is no wonder that Tulum is experiencing such high occupancy this winter.

In peak times, such as spring and summer, officials often announce increased measures of security, such as more patrols of beaches and shopping malls by police and more security vehicles and CCTV surveillance.
This enhancement has already been seen to be working in other major hotspots like Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, deterring criminals who don’t wish to be seen by cameras and consequently reveal their identity.
And finally, as mentioned above, the long-awaited Maya Train will have begun operations in Tulum by spring, allowing passengers to use the service to explore all the incredible hidden gems that exist in southeastern Mexico, as well as use it to travel to and from the new airport.
The incredible ancient Mayan route lies in and around Tulum, with the famous archeological site that sits proudly atop a clifftop dating back some 1,500 years ago.
The site is considered a pivotal area in relation to Mayan history and culture and is a must-see when you visit Tulum!
