All tourists can relate to the early morning rush to the airport on the last day of vacation to catch an international flight back home.
Marriott International now has an easier solution to the stress-filled last day of the trip with the opening of a new hotel near Cancun International Airport.
City Express Cancun Airport
After completing the purchase of the City Express chain of hotels this year, Marriott International is adding to its portfolio in the Mexican Caribbean with a convenient option for travelers getting ready to head home after a fun-filled vacation getaway to the beach resort destination.
The worldwide hotel chain recently opened its fifth property in Cancun, the City Express by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto Hotel, to provide travelers with the peace of mind of easy access to the largest airport in the region for arrival and departure flights.
The hotel is located on Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosio, just 6.4 kilometers, or an eight-minute average drive, from Cancun International Airport. Best of all, the all-suite hotel website states that it offers free full American breakfast starting at 7:00 a.m. and free transfers to the airport.
It is also conveniently near the Riviera Maya Grand Outlet in the event that a couple of items are needed before heading to the airport for the return flight home.
Ideal For Leisure or Business
The new City Express by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto Hotel plans to provide services to business guests in addition to tourists visiting Cancun.
The hotel, while conveniently close to the Cancun International Airport, is only ten minutes from the Cancun hotel zone and only 15 minutes away from the Cancun city center.
The new hotel is also conveniently located near a number of key local businesses and offers convenient meeting space for business leaders.
The City Express Acquisition
Marriott International acquired the popular Mexican Caribbean hotel chain in May of 2023.
The addition of the 31st brand to the Marriott International portfolio of hotels added an additional 150 Latin American properties to the Marriott lineup. The City Express chain included a number of urban, suburban, and extended day hotels in Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, and Chile to the large hotel chain.
The acquisition of the Mexican company increased the footprint of Marriott International 45 percent in Central and Latin America to more than 480 properties in 37 countries.
According to City Hotels Marketing Director Paulina Mendoza, the City Express hotel chain now offers a total 554 rooms across five properties to Cancun visitors with a wide variety of hotel features and amenities for travelers.
Convenience For Travelers
The new City Express by Marriott Cancun Aeropuerto Hotel provides a welcome restful evening for travelers arriving in Cancun late at night or heading out for an early morning return flight home.
Conveniently located just minutes from Cancun International Airport, it offers travelers a convenient transition location to avoid an early morning flight rush, including a free breakfast and airport shuttle.
However, travelers may not find the hotel as accommodating as hotel zone properties for a longer vacation stay. Several other properties are more convenient for access to the beaches and all of the vacation hotspots in the Mexican Caribbean.
Most of the online reviews of the other City Express properties concurred that despite not being in the heart of the tourist activity in Cancun, they provide a convenient and easy night’s rest the evening before a flight.
Travelers recommend other hotels closer to the principal tourist hotel zone for the main part of a traveler’s vacation getaway to the beach resort destination of Cancun. However, they added that the hotel was a good option for business travelers.
